Dear friends,
Thank you for being a part of a wonderful walk to raise awareness for Bile Duct Cancer! This is the only fundraiser of its kind for this rare cancer. Our fundraising supports the leading edge work being done at Johns Hopkins University for early detection and treatments led by Pathologist, Dr. Pedram Argani.
277 of us walked together in
5 locations in CA, FL, MD, and WI! We raised
$13,072 so far, with more funds arriving daily.
Thank you for your generous donation! If you have not yet contributed, please go to our
donation page for all the details.
This walk is very dear to our hearts as it benefits BDC and my sister-in-law,
Levan Gray. She was unable to join us at the walk because cancer is well, cancer ...serving up good and bad days, unannounced. One friend summed it up perfectly, "Even if Levan's feet were not able to walk with us, her spirit absolutely was." She is so grateful for your support. We were very blessed this year to be joined by
Philip Shaller, Derek Ginger, & Paul Ernst in CA and
Lynne Sater & Jim Tell in WI. In FL the dear friends of
Michael Crowley gathered in support. All 7 of them are living with the daily fight against this deadly disease and winning with every step!
Thank you for your inspiration and for coming to the walk, it was wonderful to be with you. :o)
Paul's wife Gerri so eloquently stated her gratitude in this way,
"Just a note to thank you and all who participated in the walk for all of your love and effort in making our 2010 walk a reality. Wasn't it amazing how the weather gave us some momentary reprieve from the rains? Living with cancer is alot like that...claiming those reprieves between challenges...even if its a momentary smile or an afternoon without discomfort. I've certainly learned to squeeze all the delight or comfort I can from the simplest and most fleeting moments! Seeing all of you for that short time was one of those "memory makers". Your kindness and tenacity filled the whole family with renewed hope. Please know that "currency" is being collected right along with the hard earned dollars for Johns Hopkins. We spend it each time we live with the surprises of this disease with a little more peace or grace. Thank you again. You are loved and appreciated. I'll call this week and keep checking in as our "walk" continues. Fondly, Gerri Ernst"Our thanks to so many for making the walk possible:The

We had a beautiful morning as the backdrop for the first ever Bile Duct Cancer Walk! This walk has taken on a life of its own, exceeding our wildest expectations, thanks to you, our donors and walkers.
Thank you, from all of us, for a wonderful, healing day full of hope, promise and smiles. Denny's dream was to host a walk for his Aunt Levan with a few families and raise $2,000...
Through an amazing out-pouring of support, we had 269 walkers and raised over $12,000!!! Together we united a community toward a cause for cancer research, in support of each other. All of the families at the walk today affected by Bile Duct Cancer are so grateful. Thank you.
While we hiked together locally, there were tandem walks going on in Temecula, CA, FL, MD, OH, IL & Vancouver, BC. Thank you!
